Easter

Garrett and kurt were the first ones up. They had to be at work at church at 7:30.

I showered and woke up the troops. Ed, Nina, Aaron, and Tommy went to the 9:30 service. Joe, Naomi, and I walked to church, to the 11 o'clock service. Charlie rode with TJ and Ang. Tom drove the van and trailer over for our concert after the service.

I ate breakfast at church, something I don't normally do. TJ, Nina, Naomi, and Aaron left for their gig at Sunset Pier.

The church served lunch after the service and we set up started our concert. Jake and Callie were so cute. Callie's fiddle, which was Charlie's old fiddle, has been a bit broken, but today she threw it and it was now in two pieces. Sahara and Brenden drove back to our house and got Callie's piano. She and Jake almost stole the show.

After church, I spun at my spinning wheel. Kurt went to Liza's. Ben to Sahara's. The smaller boys watched a movie.

Tom and I went on a date and went to the 6:30 service at church. Once we were back home, the boys went to the park to play roller hockey. Rob came up too to play.

And me? The living room and kitchen were trashed. I loaded the dishwasher, started water boiling for pasta, chopped onions, red peppers, and broccoli. I made cookie dough and cleaned off counters. I had Garrett pick up the living room. He had a hard time concentrating on that since the TV was on. Our TV is hardly ever on, except for hockey games. He did a lousy job. I also got the Easter goodies together so we could actually have our Easter, since we were almost all at home. We were missing Kurt and Bobby.

Everyone ate and then Tommy, Charlie, Jake, and Callie looked for their baskets. I felt a little bad because Ian and Ariel were over too and I didn't have baskets for them. But Naomi had hidden plastic eggs for them to find. I put the chocolate treats that I bought from Kilwin's in a bowl on the counter and had everyone pick out one thing.

The boys watched hockey. Everyone ate cookies. I did the dishes while Tom and Rob went in the hot tub. Then I finished plying my yarn, soaked it in the sink, hung it outside to dry, and got ready for bed.

It's 12:55 AM and they are finally all in bed. Now it's my turn.

Saturday

I did my devos in my queen's chair, and then since it was so beautiful outside, I took my book I'm reading and sat outside in my hammock chair to read. After I ate my oatmeal, I joined Tom in the hot tub. I've hardly seen or talked to him all week. Unfortunately, he had a business call while we were in the hot tub, and then we talked more business, band and household business. Not what I had in mind. Oh well.

After feeding a few people breakfast, I roamed the house knowing there was lots to do, but I could t remember what I was going to do. I folded laundry.

TJ brought Jake and Callie up. They were getting ready to go to Angelica's gig at the yacht club in Marathon. Nina went with them to play bass. I kicked kids off video games a few times and made them go outside. I did some smocking and made a salad. I had salad and broccoli soup again for lunch.

After Callie got up from her nap, I took the kids to the park. Tommy helped Jake on his bike, I pushed Callie in the stroller, and Charlie rode his bike. Bobby and shannon came too. We brought Charlie's new roller skates so he could practice when we got there.

There were three little girls, about 8 years old, fighting at the playground, so we didn't last long there. We started walking around the park, to where Tommy and Aaron were playing tennis.

One of the kids friends got there with his dad. They were practicing batting. Charlie loves baseball so he joined in, as did Tommy. Then poor Jake got upset because he wanted the ball. So Tommy and I brought Jake and Callie back home, while Bob and Shannon stayed and watched Charlie a little longer.

When we got home, Tom was home from work and Grandpa Bob and Helen were in the driveway. I took the kids upstairs and fed them supper, broccoli soup and oranges. The band was still getting ready to leave for their gig at the Hurricane. They finally left.

An hour went by and Angelica came home. I decided to not go to the Hurricane, but ordered pizza and lasagna instead. I went to Wal-Greens to pick up last minute Easter goodies and then went to PizzaWorks to pick up the food.

The food wasn't very good. I was just tired of soup and salad and had no energy for cooking. I went to my room and folded laundry while listening to the book "1776." The boys watched a movie.

I made them go to bed. That took forever. They came out so many times. They even tried to sneak my bedroom door closed so I wouldn't notice their mischief.

After putting the laundry away, (10:30 PMish), I spun on my spinning wheel for a while. Then I cleaned half my bathroom and washed the floor.

I think we will have to do Easter after church tomorrow. I've got nothing left.

Friday

I got up at 8 and got ready to go to Blue Heaven. I woke up Garrett and made him go downstairs to watch Jake and Callie, and then left with TJ, Ang, Ed, and Nina. We left at 8:30 and arrived at 9:20.

I enjoy my time at Blue Heaven. I have some alone time and get to knit or crochet. The gig is outdoors so I love that. And I love the chickens and cats that roam around, the water tower, the flowers, the artwork, the colored tables and stools.

Rob came a little after 11 and bought me breakfast for mending those jeans. The staff at Blue Heaven is always so kind to me. :0)

After Rob left I walked a few blocks to Kilwin's and bought some chocolates for the kids for Easter. I'm trying to downsize and not spend as much as last year. Also, they don't need to eat so much junk.

When we got home Nina and I went to Salvation Army to check if the bed we were waiting for was there, but they were closed since it was Good Friday. Also, Tom was putting the new trailer hitch on the new van.

The band left for the gig at The Hurricane. I watched Callie and Jake for a while because Ang hasn't felt well for 5 days. She thinks she has food poisoning. I started smocking the crab dress for Callie. I haven't had much luck with picture smocking in the past but I'm going to try it again. Jake ate some strawberries and Ang came up and fed Callie some broccoli soup.

I woke up Nina and drove the remaining people to the gig at 8:30 PM. Jim Stoneman was there. It is always good to see him. At 11 I brought the non band members home, including Bob, Shannon, Aaron, Tommy, and Charlie. Garrett had stayed home for his job at church.

Once home, I had to crack the whip to get them in bed. Aaron always drags out going to bed. Grrrrr

Thursday

Tom was up way too early and gone to work when I woke up at 8 AM. He had to work early to get back home so he could go to the hockey game in Miami. I did my devos and decided to get to my own work before he got back. I helped kids get up and ready to leave, and picked up my room.

The first group to leave in the 15 passenger van was: Ed, Ben, Sahara, Nina, Rita, Naomi, Wemi, TJ, Ang, Callie, and Jake. They left about 9:30 am so they could go to the mall first.

I had made quinoa porridge in the crockpot, just to try something new. So most everyone ate some, but Tommy wouldn't try it. Made me mad.

The next batch to leave was picked up by the Catana's: Kurt, Aaron, Tommy, Charlie.

Tom got back at 11 am. Joe did his computer work and they left. They had some jobs to do on the way.

The only ones left home were Garrett and I. I had made a giant salad and sent some with Joe and Tom. I also made broccoli soup. I did school with Garrett. I blocked the crocheted lace that I made for pillowcases. I buttonhole stitched the sleeves for Callie's dress, hand sewed the pieces together, then put it through the smocking pleater. Finally, I went to bed at midnight so I could get up at 8 to go to Blue Heaven.
