Thursday

Kim came over this morning and we went walking. It also helped others to wake up because someone had to watch Stevie and Reed. Afterwards. Kim went home and Bobby and I went out for breakfast at Bistro 31. We had a relaxing breakfast and a great visit. Tommy went to his guitar lesson while we were gone.

Next on the agenda was helping Kim and Doug load up all her weaving stuff and movie it about a mile away to her new studio. We brought Garrett to help carry stuff and Tommy to help watch the kids. I should have taken some pictures but I forgot. We moved two looms, lots of yarn, her spinning wheel, toys, and her sewing stuff. Joe and Minoli showed up to help too and it was greatly appreciated.

I got home just in time to give a piano lesson and it went great.  Nina spent the day cleaning her room, and after giving my lesson I cleaned my bathroom, cleared off the kitchen table, and did dishes. The kids went to play Ultimate Frisbee at the park and I went to Winn Dixie for watermelon. I made supper. Doug Yeomans and Emma arrived and went to the park too. About a million kids came over afterwards and took over the house and ate.

I paid bills, listened to the kids jam with Doug, read to Charlie, and went to bed.

Tuesday

Today was a rough day for our whole family. We got news this morning that our friend's 21 year old son, passed away last night. He was good friends with Joe. We are all sad and were numb all day.

I went walking, but it was so hot and I felt sick. So I only did 4 laps around the park instead of 6. When I got back I found out that Kurt was hacked big time. All his accounts, email, Facebook, he had to delete everything. People were trying to blackmail him with photoshopped pictures. He called the police. He dealt with that all night and this morning.

I dropped Charlie off at his fiddle lesson, then Tom and I went to Kim's to help her pack. We took a loom apart. Then Kim went to eat lunch with Doug and we went home. Didn't do a lot, and then went back to Kim's and took apart another loom.

We went back home to get ready to leave for our Sloppy's gig and just before we were to leave we found out that another band was on their schedule. It all worked out. Everyone was happy to stay home. I took Charlie over to the church so he could go to swim practice with Hannah again.

I got some groceries for supper tonight. Naomi helped me make Buffalo cauliflower and I made a green salad and cut up watermelon.. The boys played hockey. We ate. I did dishes and read to Charlie.

Here's a pic of Caleb and his mom, and one of the pillowcase I finished yesterday.

Monday

I went walking with Kim this morning. It was so hot. I can't believe I said it, but I said I want summer to end. We really have to make ourselves go.

After I showered and ate, I worked on my class, moved the laundry, made Tommy start his schoolwork, and got Charlie ready for Fran to pick him up to try out for swim team. Tom and I left at 1 o'clock for the chiropractor (for Tom) and then we went to a meeting in Key West. We had some extra time before we needed to go to work. I wanted to go to Dairy Queen and Tom didn't, so we didn't. :0( We went to Pier 1. It's my favorite store.that I go in and dream and never buy anything. That was a mistake. We should have gone to Dairy Queen for chocolate peanut butter goodness.

Charlie made the swim team. He called me and was so excited. :0)

We went to Sloppy's. It started raining when we started playing. I walked to Duetto's and bought myself a spicy salami foccacia. Then hurried back in the rain. The rain felt good.

At Sloppy's I finished the lace on my pillowcase and then I finished the embroidery on an old project.

Hopefully I will have energy to read to Charlie when we get home.

Sunday

I went to church but didn't feel like going anywhere. Kim came over with the kids afterwards. She doesn't stay real long but we have a nice visit.

When Kim left we headed over to Mikki and Randy's to watch the race. I crocheted lace on a pillowcase.  Mikki made us a wonderful dinner with potato soup. I  am so grateful. I like to cook but right now, I don't know how I feel. The race was exciting, the beginning and end. Two drivers ran out of gas right at the end putting Dale in 4th place.

After that we went home and Tom and I went to church. Then the boys played hockey. I crocheted some more and then cut up a watermelon, made a salad, and made spaghetti. Everyone ate. Joe and Rita did the dishes. I read to Charlie (and Tom) and hit the sack.

Saturday

Charlie and I left at 9:15 AM and went to the beach at Bahia Honda. It's our time to vedge. We stayed for almost 4 hours, then came home.

I folded more laundry, then Charlie and I rode to Key West with Rita. The band had Sunset Pier earlier and it was super hot out (heat index over 100) so in between gigs they went to Wendy's to hang out in the AC. We met them there.

We all went to Schooner. It was hot. I did embroidery and then Charlie and I left with TJ half way thru. Rita let us drive her truck home so we didn't have to stay for the whole gig.

I read to Charlie and we went to bed.

Friday

Kim and I were supposed to walk this morning, but didn't. She had a rough night and I was just too hot sitting in my chair reading. (The heat index was 107 when the boys left for Schooner).

I went grocery shopping and put it all away. Can you picture me strategically placing everything in my fridge so it will fit? I should take a picture. :0)

Tommy and Charlie did some schoolwork and Garrett and I finally finished lesson 84 in algebra (for the 2nd time)). We are 3/4 thru the book. We also took his last Bible test. Yes! That's two classes done. He has till October 15 to finish, or we can get an extension but I hope to finish.

The band went to Schooner. I decided to stay home and go tomorrow. I did another lesson in the class I'm taking, then folded the mountain of laundry that Joe is behind on. I've been fighting a yucky feeling the last couple of days. I keep making myself do things that I know need to get done. Clutter is really bothering me, and my dirty bathroom. I cleaned one sink today, the shower two days ago, and tomorrow I hope to finish it up.

All the laundry is folded and I put away what I could. The rest is folded and on a shelf in the hallway. I don't know which shirt is whose. So they will have to claim them tomorrow.

I had a pretty garland of Hawaiian flower lights on the headboard of my bed and most of it quit working a few days ago so I took it off. One of the plug's prongs was ready to fall out. Why are things made so cheaply? Just junk. :0(

I read  "Little Britches" to Charlie. Makes me want to move out to the sticks and homestead. Eh, that's a lot of work. Maybe not. I'm getting old. I just need a little elbow room and a place to put my feet up and enjoy a view.

Here arey two favorite Diane Phalen pics.

Thursday

I went walking and got started with algebra with Garrett. Tommy worked on his schoolwork, and Charlie went for a fun day with Hannah.

Tom and I had the night off and were looking for something to do, and it ended up being a trip on Randy and Mikki's boat to the sandbar at Bahia Honda. We went out about 3 and came in about 9.

The kids had youth group tonight.

Here's pics of Little Palm Island and Tom
and Randy.
