December 10, 2013

I went out for my walk. I let everyone sleep in extra since we were out so late last night.

We did school. The big kids went to the studio to practice Christmas songs. We left at 5 for our gig in Marathon. We played at Kirk of the Keys Church. The church had the prettiest entryway, an arbor with purple flowering vines. It was so pretty. I want one. :0( There was a great crowd and everyone was so kind to us.

We left there at 9:30 and picked up 5 stuffed crust pizzas from Pizza Hut. That's the favorite around here, but we don't get them often. They are too expensive.

We hurried home to eat with Rob. He probably waited an hour for us to get home.

They all watched hockey but I was too tired and went to bed. Today a new Switchfoot movie came out. That's the boys' favorite group, so they had to watch it.

December 9, 2013

Another slow morning for me. I went walking at 9:30 am and it was hot. Ed and Ben went to KW to set up again for the concert at Sunset Pier.  Tom tried a new part on the hot tub but the heater still wouldn't work.

We did school till it was time to leave for Sloppy's. When we got there, Kurt texted and needed a ride from Kara's, so we went to get him.

I spent the evening crocheting. I took the little kids to Duetto's for gelato. After the show, Ed and Ben left to do the lights for another band at Sunset Pier. When we were done loading up the rest of us went over to check it out. I didn't get to bed till 1 am.

December 8, 2013

I slept horrible. Woke up too many times. My shoulder and my legs were hurting. I got up sometime between 4 and 5. Since I was up so early, I decided to go for my walk. I was going to take the day off.

Went to church. Ed, Ben, and Nina went to KW after church to set up lights. Ed and Ben got hired to do lights for a band at Sunset Pier Sunday and Monday night.

After church Tom, Charlie, and I went to Byron and Ida's for a swim and to visit. The water was super cold. I didn't make it all the way in. Tom and Charlie didn't get in at all.

When we got home, I started getting things ready for supper. The boys went to hockey. I went to Winn Dixie for watermelon, raspberries, and bananas. Supper was easy. The church gave me leftovers again so I just heated them up in the oven.  Is de a healthy Waldorf salad for me and mixed in chickpeas.

The boys came back. We ate. I talked myself out of making cookies. I can save that for Christmas. I made baked pears instead. I did the dishes and by 10:30 I was tired. Went to bed. I wrote my blog for Saturday but was too tired and deleted it by accident.

December 7, 2013

Got up and got moving. Got my walk out of the way so I could be ready for my friend, Nira, to pick me up. We went to the Sugarloaf School Craft Show. I love going to it. I look forward to it every year.

But first, we went out for breakfast at Mangrove Mama's. that's another thing I live doing, going out for breakfast. :0)

I bought the prettiest light, painted a Keysey blue color and another chandelier that holds candles. Both have blue and green sea glass draped on them.  I also bought a new anklet and some candles.

The band was at Sunset Pier from 1-4 and Tommy and Charlie were at Kim's. When I got home there was just Garrett and Jonathan playing video games. I made them clean the trashed living room. I did laundry, dishes, picked up my room, and cleaned off my desk. My room is not done but a little better.

I drove separately with the younger boys to Salty's in Marathon. I usually like going there but tonight I was just too tired. I need more time at home to get things done. Not one homeschooler showed up so I got to go home early.

December 6, 2013

I went for my morning walk, ate fast, and woke up Tommy and Charlie to take them for haircuts. I love living in Big Pine where almost everything is a couple blocks away. I had to drag Charlie in. He likes the shaggy look. I got a trim too.

I hurried Charlie home to get picked up for a trip to the Dolphin Research Center with the homeschoolers. Then I went to Kim's to help get the next baby wrap ready for weaving.

I folded a little laundry and made a late lunch for a few of the kids and me. Then we were off to The Hurricane in Marathon. I wasn't going to go. I have just been out too many days in a row and things are looking pretty messy at home. But some friends were going so I went.

I stayed till about 10:30, then drove the little boys and me home. When I got home I finished up my birthday cheesecake. I think I gained 5 pounds in two days! Ouch!

I was really tired and hot. I wanted to turn on the AC but knew Tom wouldn't like it, so I turned the fan on me and passed out.

December 5, 2013

Happy birthday to me! I took the day off walking, only because we had to leave at 10 AM for the mainland and I had to get people moving.

Since we aimed to leave at 10, we left at 11. Eddy was trying to print our hockey tickets but it took all 3 printers to do the job. The first one printed a line down thru the barcode. The second one ran out of ink, and the third and last one finally worked.

There were 19 of us who went in two vehicles. When I got in the van, I was serenaded by the Doerfel bagpipe band, a very nasally rendition of Happy Birthday, complete with the drone. Thanks guys! The first stop was at Krispy Kreme, 2 hours from our home. Back on the road for 1 1/2 hours to the Sawgrass Mall. We all had a blast. I hadn't been to a mall in three years. I didn't buy anything but pretzels for the kids. Tom bought me 2 pairs of shorts and two tanks for running. What's he trying to tell me? :0)

Then we walked to the BB&T Center for the Panthers' hockey game. Gale and Kelly, and John T. met us there. Afterwards, we walked back over to the mall to go to Cheesecake Factory. My favorite is Spicy pasta and chipotle chicken. This time I got peanut butter chocolate cheesecake but my favorite is still the plain cheesecake. We got food to go because we had a long drive home. I shared my food with Tom, had to spoon feed him while he drove.

December 4, 2013

Walked,
Breakfast.
Made some boys eat breakfast that don't care to eat breakfast.

The kids did chores, but the older ones had a meeting to get to and Nina didn't have time to finish the dishes and Ed didn't have time to even start picking up the living room. Clutter makes me crabby, and the living room is really cluttered right now. It doesn't seem to bother anyone but me.

We did school. Charlie finished all his work, but Tommy and Garrett didn't. There just isn't enough time in my days. I can tell we are going to have to finish up in the summer.

Tommy and Charlie went to art class at the park at 3. I finished the hem on a baby dress and pulled out my sewing machine. I attached the skirt and made buttonholes in three of the four dresses.

Ed made tofu and I added leftover steamed broccoli from last night so I had a good supper. Then we went to church. The younger boys leave for church 1/2 hour early so they can help serve food. I rode with Tom on his motorcycle for the first time. I'm a scaredy cat. I'd rather ride in a car.

After church, Ed brought me home. I cleared off the table and did the dishes. Tommy and Garrett helped. Ben took Nina to KW for a meeting and to pick up friends that are going with us to the hockey game tomorrow. We have 5 extra kids sleeping over tonight.

I put together some notions for my next baby dress, to take with me on our drive tomorrow. I'm really not looking forward to the long drive, 3 1/2 hours there and then the same on the way back.

Tomorrow is my birthday; I was born in 1965. :0)
