Friday

I went to Blue Heaven for an interview, and breakfast, while Ed, Nina, and Ethan had a gig there. I wanted to stay home (so much to do) but I'm glad I went. The woman that interviewed us was from Silver Creek, NY. Tom's family has a cottage out there. That took up most of the day. We left at 8:30 AM and arrived home about 4:30. We had two hours before we had to leave for the Hurricane. I folded laundry.

The 15 passenger van is in the shop for a time-up before our trip so we took the GMC. The AC is broke in the GMC. :0(

We ate pizza and set up at the Hurricane. The kids played games and pool. About halfway thru I drove Kurt's car home with Luke, Tommy, and Charlie.

Thursday

I got my walk out of the way. On the way home a crab in the road startled me. I almost stepped on him. After I showered we started school and I planned the birthday party for tonight, Joe, Garrett, and the kids' friend, Jonathan. I had to go to Winn Dixie for ingredients to make an ice cream cake.

Garrett and Tommy helped me make the Cake. We did a little more schoolwork and then I went back to the studio to weave. I wove 3 or 4 feet. I can't remember, but it was fun. Went back home. No one was there. Most of the kids were at youth group. Charlie was at Shannon's. Tom and Rob were skating at the park. I cut up 3 heads of cauliflower to make Buffalo Cauliflower. Jonathan got home from work and cut up the watermelon. I made a salad and we also had carrots and blue cheese. The kids came home and ate all the cauliflower. Big hit.

We sang our horrible rendition of "Happy Birthday." Then ate the cake. Bobby,
Shannon,  Aylsa, Jaden, and his dad came over too. Garrett and I did the dishes. The dishwasher was stuffed. Didn't get to bed till close to 2 AM.

Here's a pic of the crab, and the Poincianna tree with the sun shining.

Wednesday

I couldn't sleep last night. I finally fell asleep sometime after 5:30. Not good. Then, of course, I overslept till 9:30. So I did not go walking. I had the boys start schoolwork and I went to Winn Dixie for groceries. Tom took TJ and his family to the Lauderdale airport. They are headed to CA for the Grass Valley Father's Day Bluegrass Festival. Came home. Put the groceries away. No matter how big my fridge is, it won't be big enough. I might have to go back to 3 trips a week.

Apples. I can fit 10 in a bag. (Ends up being $1 an apple). I buy two bags. That's enough for everyone to have one apple two days in a row. I buy 4 bunches of bananas every time I go in the store. Anyways, I survived.

We did school till 4:30. Then I went to the weaving studio. We got another wrap wound on the loom.  I picked up Chinese when we left the studio and Kim and I ate at church before Bible study.

Things started out quiet at home afterwards. I went in the hot tub. I wanted to knit but ended up on the phone. I read. As I did the dishes with Garrett, I found out that he and Tommy didn't do their math. When I left at 4:30 that was what they were supposed to do. They wasted the time instead. I was mad and made them do it at 10:45 pm. Then I turned into the bedtime police and tried getting kids to sleep. Garrett and Jonathan kept talking for more than an hour after I told them to go to sleep. Ed sent me a text after 1 AM complaining about them.

After taking TJ's family to the airport, Tom went to visit our friend, John T., in Hutchinson Island. He spent the night and will come home tomorrow.

Tuesday

The pouring rain woke me up early. I should have gotten busy but was slow moving. Tom was putting in a new used dishwasher last night and finished it this morning. The kitchen was trashed because I couldn't use the sink/water. The living room was still trashed from yesterday. Ed started to pick it up but had to leave. We started school at 11 and didn't end till 6:30. Ugh!! Garrett and Tommy need to work more diligently. They wasted a lot of time.

TJ dropped off the kids at 2:30. He took Ang to a doctor's appt in Miami. Mo came here and we did Tai Chi downstairs from 4-5. Jonathan came home after work and he cleaned the living room and emptied the dishwasher after it's trial run.  Tommy went to work at the church at 7. The older boys went to the park to play hockey. Nina did her laundry.

Kurt spent the day in KW taking graduation pics for the high school. Ben, Ed, Joe, and Nina were at the studio finishing recording their video. They probably started editing too.

While the boys played hockey, I took the little ones out on the porch to play with bubbles. I needed to get groceries today but never had time. I will have to run out in the morning before school. I want to make a menu for this week too, and I need to do some bookkeeping.

Tommy was nauseous last night and this morning. Now Joe and Ben are feeling sick. Charlie has a sore throat.

At 9:30 we watched "The Emperor's New Groove." I don't get to watch movies very often so I never saw it before.

Here's a pic of my new dresser from Brenda and the new dishwasher. The dishwasher was free from TJ's apartment. The previous renter left it there and TJ and Ang didn't want it.

Monday

I went walking while the sun was still out. When I got home it started to sprinkle. I pulled a few weeds then headed up the stairs. I took a pic of this Royal Poincianna tree during my walk.

After breakfast I started school. The band went to church to film a music video. Tom took out our broken dishwasher and had Garrett and Tommy carry it down the stairs.

At 3 o'clock I made hummus, cucumber, and tomato wraps for everyone. Then we left for Sloppy Joes. Jake came with us. TJ's family leaves for CA on Wednesday. We leave on our northern trip a week from tomorrow.

Back to Sloppy's...nothing out of the ordinary happened. Jake was super cute.  I took them for gelato. I didn't eat supper. I ate some of the kids leftovers and now I  starving.

Sunday

I woke up early and went in the hot tub, then got ready for church. Today the youth worship band was leading worship at the 9:30 & 11 o'clock services, so I wanted to go to both. The kids did great, and also had a funny video/commercial they made about the youth group.

After church I spent a half hour going thru my desk stuff to organize it to put in a drawer of my dresser. Then we scrambled to get ready to go out on our friend's boat. Tom and I took Garrett, Tommy, Charlie, Jake, Ian, Ariel, and Jonathan with us. We went out to an island. The kids went on the island and played on paddle boards. We had just enough time on the water before we headed back.

Garrett and Jaden had to work at church tonight so we didn't want to be late. Tom, Charlie, and I went. Afterwards, I dropped Tom off at the park for hockey. When we pulled in I saw Jake having a tantrum in the grass. I took him home with me but it wasn't easy. He broke one of my new shoes. He was throwing a big time fit.

Since I was hardly home and I was out of lettuce, I ordered 5 pizzas. The house was TRASHED!! Nina was there with Charlie,  and Callie was sleeping on the couch. I worked on clearing the table, then went to pick up the pizza.

When I got home, Rob surprised me. He brought two watermelons and was cooking some steaks and green beans. I only wanted one bite of steak but he gave me a few bites and it was sooo good. Thanks Rob!! (I ate some pizza too).

The boys watched hockey, and I started shooing kids to bed at 11:30. When I go to bed I don't have an ounce of energy left.

Saturday

I went walking this morning. Tom wanted me to go to the afternoon gig at Sunset Pier because he wanted me to look at an RV with him. At the last minute he said I didn't have to go because the guy never called him back. I went to pick up TJ for the gig and Tom met us at Walgreens. TJ road in with them and I went home.

I did a lot of things today. I folded lots and lots of laundry. I did math with Garrett and Tommy. I did the dishes. I took the loom Stacey gave me over to Kim's studio and started threading a wrap.

I came home about the same time the boys came home from hockey. I didn't have supper plans, but Rob brought me two watermelons so I hurriedly cut them up and pulled leftover salad and Sloppy Joe lentils out of the fridge. It turned out ok.
