Monday

I had a little bit of quiet time this morning, then started moving. I went to Winn Dixie and bought produce and a few last minute things. Came home and had Charlie carry the groceries up the stairs by himself, because he was trying not to help.

I woke up Garrett and he started making cookies. The oatmeal ones flopped; too crumbly, but the gingersnaps were great. Rita cleaned the strawberries for me, and I made a pasta salad. Then I made a green salad. I put some foodstuff and paper plates and such in plastic drawers that will go in the back of the van (my kitchen). We are not eating out. Tomorrow's drive is 15 hours.

I did dishes. Garrett moved Charlie's clothes from two backpacks into Tommy's old suitcase.

I think I'm ready.

We left at 3:45 for Sloppy's. The night went quickly. Randy and Mikki came for a farewell show. :0) Charlie was super naughty and kept fighting with Jake, so we made him sit with Randy and Mikki the whole show.

When I get home I'll pack the cooler and have the boys carry stuff down the stairs and put it in the van. I'm going to crack the whip and get to bed ASAP. We are planning on leaving at 7 AM.

Sunday

We went to church this morning. Nina's band went to Sunset pier. After church I brought TJ's kids to our house so TJ and Ang could record some more. Kim came over too. She didn't stay long enough though. :0( Joe, Rita, and Tommy went to Randy and Milkki's to watch the race.

Charlie and I watched the NASCAR race at home and the kids played. I had leftovers to eat today so didn't have to make any food. I packed the schoolbooks that I wanted to take on the trip and did a little more laundry. I also got my craft bag together. I'm trying to bring as little as possible.

TJ picked up the kids and then took the girls to Connie's so she could watch them while they gigged at Rum Row.

Tom and I went to church and Tommy worked at church. When we got home Tom went to the park to skate and I ate leftover strawberry shortcake. Charlie and I finished reading "Pinocchio" and then we finished the last "Little House" book, "The First Four Years." It wasn't a great way to end the series. Ruined crops year after year, their house burned down, and their baby boy died. Charlie went to bed sad, and me too I guess. We are going to read "Little Britches" next, a true story about a boy and his family who move to Colorado to be ranchers. It's an excellent series I read to the older kids. I'm looking forward to it.

Ben and Kurt flew out of Buffalo this evening. I don't know what time they will get home. I hope they are driving from Lauderdale now.

I finally got a prom pic for Kurt and Jewel and some cool pics Kurt took while in WNY.

Saturday

Tom and I went to the "Re-store" in the Habitat building, then stopped at Salvation Army to drop some stuff off. Before we left I had Tommy try in a pair of Joe's jeans. They fit Tommy, but Joe said that Doug had given them to him and they were expensive. When we went in to Salvation Army I looked at jeans and the very first pair I looked at were the same brand as Joe's, just 1 inch bigger and $4.99. I bought them! :0)

When we got home I packed for Tommy and folded about 100 baskets of llaundry. How can there be 100 or so socks with no matches? I threw them all out. Tired of the mid-matched sock basket.

Joe and Ed went to a gig with TJ and Ang. Rita went too, to watch Jake, and Connie watched Callie and Violet. Tom worked all day cleaning the inside of the Sprinter and cleaning up the carport. Garrett spent the day with Jonathan, helping him clean and move into his apartment.

At 4 I did something I hardly ever do. I got my nails done. Now I feel pretty. Then I went to Bealls and bought a suitcase. (Ed bought one yesterday and Joe bought one right after I did). They look so big until you put stuff in them. There really are a lot of us to travel. That's a lot of suitcases. I'm not going to think about it. I just have to pack for Tommy, Charlie, and me. Tomorrow I will pick out what school books to take, Monday morning I will shop for produce, we'll play at Sloppy's, then leave ASAP Tuesday morning.

Nina and Ed went to Nina's gig at Pinchers.

Anyways, I spent a few minutes at home trying to figure out supper, made a plan, ran to Winn Dixie, came home, made a Buffalo chicken ziti concoction and strawberry shortcake, all the while doing dishes. We are just after 9.  TJ and Ang dropped off the kids so they could go record. They are trying hard to finish before we leave.

Violet needed to sleep so I had to hold her. I finally went to my room and she fell asleep, but then I couldn't move. TJ got back and picked up the kids. I did dishes and put leftovers away. Then I had to get stuff off my bed from packing. Now it's almost 2 AM. Maybe next year just the band should go. So much work. So much stuff. Oh well, we should have fun.

Also today, Kurt and Ben took their girlfriends to the prom up in NY. I found this pic of Ben and Emma on Facebook but none of Kurt and Jewel. And here's a super pretty Poinciana tree a block from our house.

Friday

I ran Charlie to fiddle camp, then spent the morning cleaning my room. At noon Tom and I went to Veterans' Beach to watch the fiddle camp's play of "Peter and the Wolf." Everyone was supposed to meet there, but they were running late, so Tom and I went home. We were trying to pack and get ready for out trip.

Fran was taking Charlie to Veterans Beach and they stopped to get Charlie's swimsuit. Charlie was sad that we weren't going to go see the play, since it was now supposed to start later, so we changed gears and went. Charlie was the wolf.

We had to leave before the play was over, to take the Sprinter van to Key West to get a temperature guage put on. Charlie stayed with Fran and Georgina and they brought him home later.

Key West Jeep and Sprinter gave us a jeep to drive while they worked on the van. Tom and I went to a Sears, TJ max, and Outback Steakhouse. Then the van was ready and we went back to get it. We didn't even drive the jeep a mile, but it was fun for a few minutes.

After we got home I spent the evening packing. Tom went to the park to skate. TJ, Ang, and Joe had a gig at the Marathon Yacht Club. Their friend, Connie, was able to babysit so I had the night off from that, but they will need me again tomorrow evening while they finish recording.

I worked on packing till 11 o'clock, read to Charlie, and went to bed.

Tuesday

I overslept big time, 10:30!!!! That made Charlie an hour late to fiddle camp. I never ever sleep that late. I hurried, woke up Charlie, and drove him over.

I find that when I have too many things to do...I do nothing. Waste time. That's what's been happening the last few days.   Tommy and I went to get our hair cut, then I dropped Tommy off at church to watch TJ's  kids again while they recorded. When fiddle camp was over Charlie went to his friend's house. I don't think I got anything done.

At 3:45 we left for Sloppy Joes and picked Charlie up on the way. I knitted on the way. Still trying to finish Jake's sweater. The night went by quickly. Jake's voice was raspy when he sang. He sounded like a blues singer and he didn't like it. Then he fell asleep leaning on a table.  During our first break I took Charlie to buy new Crocs. I ended up buying some for Jake and Callie too, Star Wars for Jake, Frozen for Callie.

Too tired when we got home at 11. I haven't read to Charlie in days. :0(

Monday

I slept horribly and got up early, so I made myself go walking. I dropped Charlie off at fiddle camp at the church, then spent some time doing bookkeeping. Tommy watched TJ's kids at church while the band recorded more for Angelica's cd.  At 12:30 I picked up Charlie and we ran into Winn Dixie for a cart full of food:  bananas, strawberries, milk, and bread.

I put the food away and got ready to go to Sloppy's. I knitted on the way there. I'm almost done with Jake's sweater. I'm near the end of the second sleeve. Sloppy's was fine till the last set, then I was overstimulated. Too many people. Too much noise. I was glad when it was over.

When we got home, Tom talked to his cousin in San Diego on the phone while I was trying to fall asleep.  I tried for an hour, then went to the kitchen. Another hour went by and when I went back in our room Tom was sleeping. Then it took forever to fall asleep. Do you feel sorry for me?

I picked a pineapple this morning that grew on my porch. I ate the whole thing with my breakfast. It was small.

The Newton's got a new kitty and have been bringing it to all our gigs.

Sunday

I slept till 9:30 AM. I never sleep that late. We went to church. Nina's band went to her gig. After church I brought TJ's kids to my house. TJ and Ang went to a gig at Rum Row. We watched the Nascar race and I practiced tambour embroidery. Tom was over to Fran's, cleaning the GMC. When he came home we took the kids and Charlie to Rum Row, so the kids could swim in the pool. Fran and Georgina met us there with Hannah. The kids had a great time.

Tom took the van to the next gig (Schooner Wharf) so the boys could set up. Then he came back to Rum Row to pick up TJ, Charlie, and me. We went to Schooner and Ang took the kids home. When we got to Schooner I found out that Charlie left his sneakers at Rum Row. Grrrr. So Charlie and I took a walk to cvs and bought some dumb flip flops. We also went to Kilwin's.

TJ, Charlie, and I left early at 10.
