Friday 

I went walking, then did school. Around 5 o'clock we got our costumes on and went over to the church for the Fall Festival. It was a lot of fun. The kids put on a half skit/half movie and performed a few songs. There were tons of people there. 

When it was over I went home and studied Logic with Tommy for about an hour. Then he took his quiz. I wasn't confident that he was ready, but he had to take it before midnight. He got just two wrong!  I'm happy with that. It's the hardest class for him. 

I read to Charlie pretty late and went to bed.

Thursday 

My muscles are so sore from yesterday's exercise class. So tired today. My shoulder was worse. Did school all day. Charlie went to swim class. The big kids worked on the fall festival, except for Kirt, who blew everyone off and went fishing. I went to Angelica's and we made lip balm,  bath salts, and hand sanitizer. Came home and worked on my homework. The kids went to the park with the youth group for ultimate frisbie but they couldn't find a frisbie. I ordered 5 pizzas  for supper and they only ate 3. There were atleast 5 friends over. Helped Tommy study logic earlier and then again at 10 PM. Tonight Charlie read and put me to bed. 

A vintage crocheted and hardanger embroidered bedspread came today that I ordered. 

October 28, 2015

Wednesday 

TJ dropped off the girls about 8:30 and picked up Joe to play at Blue Heaven. Pink eye has been going around and now it's Callie's turn. She's got it. 

I almost talked myself out of going to exercise class at church, but I went. It was a little harder today. Maybe it was just me. I've been sleeping so bad I can't stand it. I wake up too early and can't fall back asleep.

After the class I showered, made oatmeal for the girls, and tried to start school with Charlie. Tommy was already doing his. He made me so mad. He had a Logic quiz due by tonight and I was going to study with him before he took it, but he took it ealier without telling me, and got a 60. I'm still mad. 

Tom took the girls and Charlie for a bike ride. I worked on homework for one of my classes. TJ and Ang picked up the girls and I did school with Charlie until we left for church at 6:00. Grandpa Bob and Helen went to church again, but they will be leaving tomorrow. 

Tom, Tommy, and Charlie stayed at church to help set up for the fall festival. Kim dropped me off at home. I am behind in everything. The laundry is backed up. There's a lot to be folded and a lot to wash. I thought Tommy would be on the ball with his schoolwork now but I have to check and make sure his homework is done. He waits too late at night to do his homework if I'm not on him. He's also handed in atleast 3 assignments in late. Grrrr! 

I made some more spaghetti and a salad for Ed and Ben, did the dishes, read to Charlie, and went to bed.

Sunday

I woke up at 7. We went to church. Kim didn't go because Stevie was sick. Came home afterwards and did homework for my class. Then went to Mikki and Randy's to watch NASCAR. We saw a bunch of zombie's on bikes from the Big Pine Zombie bike ride while driving there. Came home just before 11 and Tommy's homework wasn't done. Grrrrr!!! Punk!!

Saturday 

Today was a really weird day. I got to stay home all day, which was a good thing, but , for starters, all week I've been waking up before 6 AM. Not good because most nights I don't get to bed till 1 AM. Once I wake up I can't fall asleep. I try. I lay there for 2 hours sometimes, but I just can't sleep. 

I was going to try a painting project today, but changed my mind and decided to sew. A wan from church asked me to see covers for her outdoor  furniture. They are basically like pillowcase slip covers. I made 6 of them today. They all need to be handsewn closed on the last side. I got the hand sewing on one of them done. Maybe I can do one a day. There are also a few small pillows but I will save them for another day.

TJ and Ang dropped off Violet on their way to their gig at Rum Row. The rest of the band had a double at Sunset Pier today. Tommy studied logic for hours today. 

After I put my sewing stuff away I couldn't decide what to do next. A part of me wanted to order subs and another part wanted to eat healthy. . I didn't know what to do for supper. I kind of needed groceries.  I didn't want to cook. I just wanted to eat. Finally, somehow, I got thru it and I felt better. I found a recipe for lasagna soup and I had all the ingredients, so I made that and chocolate chip cookies. 

Tommy took his Logic test. He will have to spend tomorrow doing his homework. 

I'm in bed before midnight. Tommy and Charlie are fighting. Tom is watching hockey.

Friday

The last few days I've woken up before 6 AM. That's too early for me because I hardly get to bed before 1 AM lately. I went walking, ate oatmeal, made some cinnamon rolls, and started school. I did art with Charlie, and Jake came over so he did it too. I'll have to take some pictures of our projects. 

TJ picked up Jake and dropped off the girls. They went to a gig at Hogfish. Then the rest of the boys went to the Hurricane. Garrett, Tommy, and Charlie went to the movie at church. Kim came over with the kids and hung with Callie, Violet, and me. Kim and I did a practice run with some lace, spray paint, and wood that I am planning on painting the ends of the new bunk bed with. 

I helped Tommy study for two hours for his logic test. It covers 18 lessons and we've been going over a few lessons every day. We finally got through them all tonight. Tomorrow he needs to review some more, and we found an app (quizlett) that has some neat games to help him quiz himself, so hopefully that will help. 

The girls fell asleep. There was a fire on Stock Island and the road was closed so TJ and Ang couldn't come home. They went back to Hogfish and hung out till it closed. Then finally they started letting people through the road. They picked up the girls. 

It's 1 AM and Charlie is still up. Sometimes I would like a normal schedule and kids who go to bed and wake up at normal times.

Wednesday

I got Tommy up for his classes and then went to the exercise class at church. We did school all day untill we went to church at night. It has cooled down to around 80 and we were able to sit outside on the porch in the hammock chairs and read.

The band went to Schooner and tommy, Charlie, and I went to church. Grandpa Bob and Grandma Helen were there.  They came to FL for a wedding. After church I stopped at Walgreens and Winn Dixie.

When I got home I helped Tommy study for his Logic test. We worked at it for an hour, then went to bed.

Tuesday

I woke up at 7. That was a little too early, but I got my walk in and took Charlie to his fiddle lesson. I stopped at Walgreens for a few things and remembered that today was Tommy's real birthday so I bought a few of his favorite goodies, orange juice, Reese's, chewy Chips Ahoy, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. 

When I got home, I also remembered that one of Tom's friend's was coming with a guest, for a visit and spending the night. Joe and Bob helped me take the bunk bed down and I made the beds. 

Meanwhile, Tommy and Charlie did school, and then I did the dishes, but I was kind of lost after that. I had only two hours till we had to leave for Sloppy's. I tried to do some schoolwork with Charlie but he was being a punk and I was annoyed. We finally stopped and got ready for the gig. The boys were all late so I took Charlie over to church and dropped him off with Georgina.

Tom went to KW with John T. and Robert to look at an estimate so Ben drove the van down. After I helped set up a little I had to go pick up Charlie from swimming. It took me a half hour to go from Sloppy's to the college. Tom thought it would take me 10 minutes. 

Another great crowd at Sloppy's and another fun night.

Monday

I was up too late last night. When I was ready for bed Tom and Charlie begged to read the Little Britches book. It's the 3rd one, "The Fields of Home." Charlie started out reading and then I took over. So I woke up at 9:15 and woke Tommy up for his 9:30 class. 

After my devos I got dressed to go walking but when I opened the door it had started raining, so I did yoga in my bathroom instead. Next, I did school with Charlie until 3:00 when we got ready for Sloppy's. 

Randy and Mikki went to Sloppy's. I sat with them and the show was really fun. I usually sit off to the side, and see very well, and get pretty bored. (That's why I embroider, knit, or crochet). But tonight it was fun sitting out front. The kids were great, audience was great, and it was fun. 

Jake's wearing the sweater I made him. It's cooled down to 80 degrees here.

Sunday

We went to church. The kids helped lead worship today. Kim came over afterwards and it was actually quiet and relaxing for a while. Tom had to go finish the floor he's been working on. Joe was sick and fell asleep on the couch. 

I crocheted a little and then helped Tommy with his Logic homework for  a long time. It took us a while but we both figured it out and learned something. :0)

I met Tom at church. I was late because of Tommy's homework. The boys went to play hockey and I went to Winn Dixie. I hurried home and put food away while making a mega veggie pasta salad. 

They turned a loud hockey game on and I went to bed.

Saturday

I missed a few days. 

(Thursday)

I ran to the grocery store for fruit and just a few things to get by for a few more days. Everyone but Tommy, Bobby, and I went to a hockey game up near Fort Lauderdale. Tommy had his classes and homework so he couldn't go. I helped him and did laundry.

Kim came over and helped me arrange furniture in the guest/sewing room. We moved my quilt frame from my room to there. I moved a shelf out of the laundry room to my room, and moved the hitch from the guest room into the laundry room for Kurt's clothes and bedding.

Tommy went to youth group. I made two pizzas with whole wheat crusts. They were ok. 

Friday- We did school all day. I helped Tommy for a long time with a paper that was due before midnight. I wanted to help him study for his Logic test too but he took it without studying and I'm sure he failed. He's doing great in math and Latin though. 

Joe and I went to Jess Von Dees. Joe got his hair cut and I got mine trimmed. Now I need to make a few dentist appointments. 

There was no gig today and it rained a lot. Tom worked late putting a floor in someone's camper so I took Bob and Charlie over to Bistro 31 for supper. Schoolwork has been taking so long and then I don't have energy to make supper.  After we got home teenagers started showing up. They were loud so I retreated to my room and went to bed.

Saturday- I did homework with Tommy and Charlie and I built a castle. I'll have to take a picture. I also did homework fort class at church.  At 4:45 I left and dropped off food for Tom where he was working, then went to Hogfish, picked up TJ's girls, and went to Kim's studio. I brought food from Hogfish for supper for me and Kim and some French fries for Tommy.

Callie and I helped Kim wind a warp on the back beam. The kids played a little and then I brought the girls to our house. I came into the house with Callie and Violet, and Aaron was laughing historically. I asked what was so funny, and he said he just remembered something. Aaron had Charlie's bow and arrow you. I told him not to shoot at my pictures, that he'd break something. Then I went about my business. JC and Aaron left. A few minutes later Violet pulled a piece of broken glass out of the garbage. So I thought they did break a picture. I went over to the pictures and there was broken glass on the piano, in the keys, on the chair, and on the floor. I've got babies here. Violet was bare foot, and they (especially JC he is older), they don't have the decency to tell me they broke the glass on a picture so I can clean up the glass. What if they or Charlie sat on the chair or went to play piano? I am lucky I caught it before someone got cut. I was really mad. 

Violet played in the cupboards, rearranging things, and Callie played with play dough. I took notes on another chapter of Tommy's logic. I made supper, Pad Thai and bulgar wheat. The band had a double at Sunset Pier today. When they got home they were loud. They turned on hockey and I went to bed.

Wednesday

This morning I went to the exercise class at church, and I didn't chicken out this time. I stayed. I like it and will keep going. 

Afterward I came home, showered, and started school. There were too many distractions today, too many many people coming and going. It was hard to concentrate and stay on task. :0(

At 4:30 TJ dropped off the girls. He left me their truck with the car seats so I could take the kids to church and then home afterward. We finished up our schoolwork and then went to church. After church I took the girls to TJ's house and put them to bed there. They were very good. I let Callie watch Power Rangers before going to bed and then Violet fell asleep in my lap. TJ and Ang got back from their gig at Blue Heaven about 11:30 PM and Tom picked me up. What a long day. :0)

Tom painted the guest/sewing room yesterday. I still have to organize the room. I might move my quilt frame out of my room and I not there. Maybe tomorrow. Here's a pic of the new/used bunk beds. I'm going to paint them. Kurt's been sleeping in there. Right now he doesn't have a bed.

Tuesday 

I went walking. We did school till1:00 when we left for gym class. I drove the the big black Sprinter van. The AC works great so it was a nice ride. I also had a pleasurable visit with some other homeschool moms. :0)

I left a little late and wanted to hurry home to get Charlie to Georgina to go to swimming, but I was stuck behind a truck doing 40-45 mph across the 7-mile bridge. Ugh!! We got home with 5 minites to spare. Charlie ran up and got his swim clothes on and we were off. 

I went over a few math lessons with Tommy and read and took notes from his logic book. He's having a hard time in that class and I want to help him study for a test on Friday. I did more of my class work  and pulled out my sewing machine to hem a pair of pants for Rob. He's taking a trip north to feel cold air, sit outside around a fire, and see the leaves. 

The boys played hockey. I was so busy with school stuff that I never got to supper. Somehow I ran out of noodles and I was going to make 'Cheater Pad Thai' tonight. Ben went to Winn Dixie and bought some stuff to make calzones. The kitchen was soooo trashed. :0(

Monday

Kim came over and we walked. Tom watched Stevie and Reed. We did school and Ben, Garrett, and Joe cleaned up garbage from under the house. Two mattresses went out, and some broken chairs, old guitar cases, stuff like that. It's a good feeling to get rid of junk. 

At 3:30 Rita dropped Charlie off at church to go to his swim class and we went to Sloppy Joes. The aunt of a good friend of mine from school was at the show. It's so fun to run into people from home. Other kind fans came and talked to me. Thank you for the encouragement. :0)

Sunday

Went to church. Kim came over with the kids. We watched the NASCAR race a little. I finally did some of my homework. The band left for Schooner Wharf. I wanted to go but knew I needed to stay home and get some work done. Clean laundry lined the hallway and needed to be folded, so that's what I did. I listened to the book, "The Count of Monte Christo," while folding. I folded mine, Tommy's, Charlie's, Garrett's, and Tom's clothes. That left two baskets of the other boys clothes. I can't tell whose they are. They will have to do those themselves.

I went to church for my class, then ce home and finished folding. I hoped to read to Charlie but folding took too long and I knew I needed to get to bed.

Saturday

I went walking again. Then planned meals for the week, made my grocery list, and went shopping. The band went to Sunset Pier. I came home, put groceries away, and made two birthday cakes, one a store bought mix and the other a homemade chocolate cake with carmel in the middle. I made the salad, cut two watermelons, made spaghetti and garlic bread. I thought I would get a break and do my homework for my class, but there was no break. I was in the kitchen the whole day. 

The boys came back from hockey and there were 31 people in the house for supper and birthday cake. It was crazy and fun. The party was for all the October birthdays. 

I did dishes forever and went to bed.

Thursday

Nina and Rita both moved out. Nina has been working her own gigs in Key West and wanted to be closer. I think Rita needed her own space and it's very hard to find that here. They've each found separate places to rent. So, I needed to find beds for their room. I found a bunk with a trundle on Key West Yard Sale. It was in Duck Key. Tom and Garrett went and picked it up. Kim came over and helped me clean up the room. The boys used it for a "catch all" room when they cleaned floors while I was gone. 

Charlie went to swimming with Georgina. They took him out to eat for his birthday and got him presents afterwards. They spoil him and it is really nice for him. :0)

I also watched TJ's kids  while they had a gig at Rum Row.then Tom took them over to TJ's and put them to bed there.  They were very good. The big kids had youth group tonight.

Tuesday

I thought I would go straight to bed when we got home, but I wasn't tired at all, and it was daytime, so I got back to work. 

Tom and the boys surprised me. They had the floors washed and waxed, and Tom restrained some of the kitchen cupboards that were looking pretty beat. They also painted my bathroom, and hung up a bunch of pictures in the living room. 

I started in on the laundry and then went to Walgreens. Our bathrooms needed shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Mikki stopped over with some food and the boys started eating right away. 

Everything wasn't put back from the painting of my bathroom, so I tried to put a few things away. I also watered plants. Then it was time to go to Sloppy's. The first set there wasn't a lot of people, but it was crowded for the 2nd and 3rd. 

Today was also Charlie's 10th birthday, so during the first break and 2nd set, I took Tommy, Charlie, and Jake went to Ripley's Believe it or Not. Then we went to the "It's Sugar" store. We are going to have a birthday party on Friday.

Monday

We left this morning about 11:30. We went over to Charlotte and then to Atlanta, staying away from all the flooding in SC. We drove straight through, all night long, and got home 9:30 Tuesday morning. I didn't sleep at all. So glad to be home. :0)

Sunday

We went to church, then Louis made us lunch, fish, rice, and plantain in coconut milk with Cajun spices. It was delicious and perfect for another dreary, rainy day. It has rained all day, every day for the last 7 days. TJ and Angelica picked me up and we started out for home. We hadn't gone very far when Jake needed a bathroom stop. We had been watching the weather and found out that 95 was closed for a good stretch in SC. Angelica has family in Fayetteville, so we decided to go hang out at the mall in Fayetteville and see what happened with 95. It was still closed when we left so we went to Angelica's cousin's house.

They made us a delicious supper and we visited for a while and then spent the night.

Saturday

Another relaxing morning. Louis made us breakfast: pancakes, sausage, and scrambled eggs with jalapeños. Delicious!! 

We relaxed and visited till it was time to go to Raleigh. We wanted to go early to roam a little and then get seats for Angelica's showcase. 

It was great. We watched a band called 'Barefoot Movement.' Then at the CBA suite we watched a few bands before Angelica, Billy Stings and Don Julin, Clay Hess's band, and a Canadan band. 'The Family Band' was the best but I'm not biased or anything.

Laurie and I stopped for milkshakes on the way home. Yum!

Friday

I didn't go to the IBMA stuff in Raleigh today. Laurie and I picked up Angelica, picked up some lunch from Chipotle, and then went to Laurie's friend's house to learn about 'Young Living.' We made our own chapstick and some other things. It was fun. 

We dropped Angelica off in Raleigh and then went back to Laurie's house. We had time to relax and visit, then went out to eat for supper. We ended the night watching some HGTV . I never get to do that at home. :0)

It has been raining everyday for 5 days now, and the high was 58 degrees today.

Thursday

Today was a rainy day so Louis didn't have to go to work till later and we got to sit aroumd and chat. TJ picked me up around 3:30 and we went into Raleigh. They all went into the trade show but I didn't have a ticket so I hung out in the foyer and crocheted. 

When they were done we grabbed a bite to eat then went up to the room that a friend gave them for tonight. Jack took the kids swimming and TJ took me back to  Laurie's. Angelica went to the awards show with Molly Tuttle. Laurie was working at the church so TJ dropped me off there and I helped put bulletins together.

When the church work was done we went back to Laurie's house where Louis had dinner waiting for us. We visited for quite a while and went to bed.
